Fairly Staffing Fee Guide for Clinics

This guide explains how fees work when your clinic uses Fairly Staffing to book temporary dental professionals. Our goal is to keep pricing simple, transparent, and aligned with the value we provide

What You Pay as a Clinic

When you successfully hire a temp through Fairly Staffing, there are two main components to your cost:

  • Temp’s Hourly Rate

    • Set by the temp, not by us

    • You’ll see each temp's hourly rate when you review applicants for your shifts

    • You only pay for the hours they work (unpaid break time is deducted)

  • Fairly Staffing Platform Fee

    • Flat $52 per shift

    • It’s free to sign up and free to post shifts — post as many shifts as you need, anytime
      • If the shift isn’t filled, you choose not to hire anyone, or you cancel with more than 24 hours’ notice, you won’t be charged a thing
    • Our $52 fee is charged only when:

      • A shift is successfully completed, or

      • You’ve hired a temp and cancel the shift less than 24 hours before the scheduled start time

        • This is our Short-Notice Cancellation Fee
  • Optional or situational Platform Fees 
    • Shift Creation Fee
    • Hiring Assistance Fee
    • Short-Notice Cancellation Fee (charged if a temp is hired and the shift is cancelled less than 24 hours before the scheduled start time)

If you need to cancel a shift with a hired temp less than 24 hours before the scheduled start time, we recommend compensating them for 3 hours at their hourly rate to account for the short-notice cancellation and unexpected loss of income. Such compensation would be in addition to our Short-Notice Cancellation Fee.


What’s Included in the Platform Fee

Your $52 per shift fee helps support:

  • A responsive support team to help resolve any shift-related issues

  • Access to a reliable network of available, vetted dental professionals

  • Shift visibility and applicant management via the Fairly Staffing platform

  • Ongoing temp quality monitoring and marketplace standards enforcement

  • Optional use of Fairly Payments for seamless in-app payment

  • Platform maintenance and continuous feature improvements


Optional: Fairly Payments Transaction Fee

  • Clinics can choose to make temp payments through Fairly Payments, our integrated in-app payment system

  • If Fairly Payments is used, a Transaction Fee is added to the invoice total

    • The exact fee depends on the payment method you choose and is clearly displayed in the app for your review before you make payment
  • The Transaction Fee covers secure payment processing and direct deposit to the temp

  • Clinics are also welcome to pay temps directly outside the platform if preferred—Fairly Staffing does not require the use of Fairly Payments

    • If you’re making an off-platform payment, you can mark the invoice as paid to help track payment status and keep accurate records

Paying a temp outside the Fairly Staffing app means we have no visibility into the transaction and are not making the payment on your behalf. In these cases, we cannot provide support for payment-related issues and our system only serves as a record-keeping tool—the payment is entirely between you and the temp. Optional: Temp Onboarding Portal Upgrade Fee

  • Clinics can optionally upgrade to access the premium Temp Onboarding Portal, which lets you upload an unlimited number (up to 1 GB) of documents, photos, and onboarding checklists for temps to review before their shifts

    • The upgrade is currently available for $12/month

No Hidden Fees

  • No signup costs

  • No mandatory monthly subscription fees 

    • The premium Temp Onboarding Portal is an optional upgrade
  • You only pay when a shift is filled and completed

  • Optional features and services are clearly communicated before activation or use


How Temp Payments Work

  • Temps check in and out of their shift through our app and log any unpaid break times. This helps ensure the accuracy of the shift invoice generated on their behalf

After temps check out, you’ll have a chance to approve their hours and leave a review: How do I approve hours and pay temps?

  • Once approved, payment is processed either:

    • Through Fairly Payments (if you choose to use it), or

    • Directly by your clinic (if paying the temp off-platform)
