How do I set up text notifications (clinic)?
Setting up text notifications as a clinic
Text notifications send you a text message when something happens on your shifts. You choose which alerts you want, and you can change them or turn them off at any time.
Before you begin
- You need a mobile number that can receive text messages. A landline or clinic phone system will not work.
- Text notifications are set per user. Everyone on your team picks their own alerts.
When You First Create Your Account
- When you create your account, we show you a window called Stay in the loop with text alerts.
- Confirm your mobile number, tick the agreement box, choose your alerts, then click Save.
- To skip it for now, click Set up later or close the window.
- Nothing is saved and we will not text you.
- You can set this up any time from Settings. The rest of this article shows you how.
Check Your Mobile Phone Number
- Go to Settings in the left sidebar, then open the My Profile tab.
- Check that the Mobile Phone Number is the mobile you want your texts sent to.
- To change it, click Edit, update the number, and save.
- My Profile is the only place this number can be changed.
- It is the same number used for your text notifications, so changing it here changes where your texts go.
Turn On Text Notifications
- Open the Text Notifications tab in Settings.
- Your mobile number is shown at the top of the page.
- Tick the box that says I agree to receive text notifications from Fairly Staffing.
- The alerts stay locked until you tick this box. This is how you tell us it is okay to text you.
Choose Your Alerts
Switch on the alerts you want. You can pick any combination.
- New shift applications, when someone applies to one of your shifts.
- Application withdrawals, when a temp withdraws their application.
- Negotiation updates, when a temp accepts, declines, or counters an offer.
- Regular cancellations, when a temp cancels with more than 24 hours' notice.
- Short-notice cancellations, when a temp cancels with less than 24 hours' notice.
Your changes save as you make them. There is no save button on this page.
Turning off text notifications
You have three options, depending on how much you want to switch off.
- To stop certain alerts, switch those alerts off on the Text Notifications tab.
- To stop all texts, untick the agreement box on the Text Notifications tab. This switches off every alert.
- To stop all texts from your phone, reply STOP to any text from us.
Replying STOP blocks our texts at the phone company level, not in the app. After that, turning your alerts back on in Settings will not start the texts again.
We cannot text you until you reply START in that same text conversation, no matter what your settings say.
Turning off text notifications does not change your email notifications or anything else in your account.
If you are not getting texts
Check these four things in order.
- Is the agreement box ticked on the Text Notifications tab?
- Is at least one alert switched on? If every alert is off, we send nothing, even with your number saved.
- Is the number in My Profile a mobile that can receive texts?
- Did you reply STOP to one of our texts before? If so, we are blocked from texting you until you reply START in that same conversation. Your settings in the app cannot override this.
A few things to know
- You cannot type in the number field on the Text Notifications tab. It is there for reference, with a link back to My Profile.
- How many texts you get depends on which alerts you turn on and how busy your shifts are.
- Standard message and data rates from your phone company may apply.
