What is in-app chat?

In-app chat lets you message a temp who is hired for one of your shifts. Use it to share parking details, entry instructions, who to ask for on arrival, or anything else the temp needs to know.

Chat is organized around each shift. Every hired shift has its own chat, so messages stay tied to the right date and temp.

How chat works

  • Chat turns on only after a temp is hired for your shift.
  • You can chat on the web app and the mobile app.
  • Both stay in sync, so you can start on your phone and pick it up on your computer.
  • You get a notification on the mobile app when the temp sends a message.
  • You also get an email when a new chat is started.
  • Chat closes when the temp checks out and the shift ends.

Chat only works with a temp who is already hired. If you want to reach available temps the moment you post a shift, use Temp Radar instead.

How to open a chat on the web app

  • Open the chat from the shift tile, or click Chat in the sidebar.
  • Open the chat for that shift.
  • Type your message and send.

How to open a chat on the mobile app

  • Tap the chat icon in the bottom menu bar.
  • Open the chat for that shift.
  • Type your message and send.

Chat vs. Temp Radar

  • Chat is for talking with a temp who is already hired for your shift.
  • Temp Radar lets you reach a set number of available temps as soon as you post a shift, before anyone is hired.
