How do I check in and out of shifts?

Checking in and out of shifts

Checking in and out of shifts may be done at any time after the shift start time during the scheduled work day.

Checking In and Out

To check in or out of shifts:

  • Click "My Shifts"
  • Click "Scheduled Shifts" on the top navigation bar
  • Click "Shift details"
  • Click either the "Check-In" or "Check-Out" button, as applicable
    • Before checking out, you will need to enter any Break Time taken (in minutes)
      • If you didn't take a break, enter 0

You can also check in or out from the Schedule view.

If you checked in or out at the wrong time, you can easily correct the time by following these steps:

  • While checking in or out, click the pencil icon next to the time. After you check in or out, you cannot adjust the time, so please be careful
  • Adjust the time to reflect your actual start or end time
  • Save your changes

It’s critical to accurately check in and out as this helps ensure accurate records and smooth payment processing.

If you don’t check in for your shift, you’ll be marked as a no show at 11:30pm that day. It's your responsibility to request a correction.

If you don’t check out of your shift, we’ll automatically check you out at 11:30pm using the scheduled shift end time. If that time is incorrect, it’s your responsibility to request any corrections.

If you didn’t adjust your time after checking in or out, the clinic can still correct it when they review and approve your hours at the end of the shift.

Alternatively, you can email us at temps@fairlystaffing.com to request a correction. Be sure to include your name, the clinic, and the correct time(s).

Leaving Feedback

You must leave feedback about the clinic when you check out from your shift, being:

  • A rating on a scale of 1 to 5 stars
  • A written review

A 5-star rating doesn’t mean the clinic was perfect — it means you had a great experience and you’d be happy to work there again.

Rating Guide

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Excellent (Not Perfect!): Welcoming, respectful, and organized. The shift ran smoothly, and you felt like part of the team. You’d gladly return and recommend the clinic to others. Minor issues are okay — the standard isn’t perfection.

⭐⭐⭐⭐ Very Good: The clinic met your expectations and was generally professional. The shift went well, with just a few small areas for improvement.

⭐⭐⭐ Good: You completed the shift, but there were some issues — maybe with communication, organization, or overall fit. You’d consider going back only if needed.

⭐⭐ Fair: The clinic had notable problems — disorganization, unclear expectations, or a poor working environment. You likely wouldn’t want to return.

⭐ Poor: You had a bad experience. The clinic was unprofessional, disorganized, or disrespectful. You would not want to work there again or recommend it to others.
